Escultura totémica, generativa e estrutural, alusiva ao declínio do lobo-ibérico e ao seu papel fundamental na manutenção biodiversa e equilibrada de ecosistemas naturais. Um retrato dinâmico, frágil, evolutivo e generativo que cresce com as intempéries climáticas.
Totemic, generative and structural sculpture allusive to the decline of the iberian-wolf and to its fundamental role in the biodiverse and balanced maintenance of natural ecosystems. A dynamic, fragile, evolutionary portrait which grows with the climate weathering.

Sábado 17 de Dezembro, no âmbito do projecto “Os Lobos em Portugal” da ArteCódigo Associação Cultural, realizar-se-á um evento inaugural da escultura de arte pública Totem-Lobo #2 na ArteCódigo SRAM, situado nos Casais de S. Brás, em Santarém. Junte-se a nós numa tarde que incluirá a inauguração de Totem-Lobo #2, uma performance de Wolfmachine, e uma intervenção áudio-visual ao vivo com convidados especiais.
Totem-Lobo #2 é uma escultura totémica bio-electrónica, generativa e estrutural, alusiva ao declínio do lobo-ibérico e ao seu papel fundamental na manutenção biodiversa e equilibrada de ecosistemas naturais. Um retrato dinâmico, frágil, evolutivo e generativo que cresce com as intempéries climáticas.
Wolfmachine é uma obra bio-electrónica composta por mini faróis-laser electrónicos espalhados na paisagem que cantam em sincronia padrões visuais de dados históricos da evolução da população lupina em Portugal durante o século XX, através da emissão ritmada de feixes de luz laser verde para o céu.
André Sier apresentará um momento áudio-visual ao vivo com convidados especiais, baseado na obra Half-Ant de 2020.
A inauguração de Totem-Lobo #2, a execução de Wolfmachine (2020-22) na ArteCódigo SRAM, na sua sede nos Casais de S. Brás, Santarém, encontra-se inserida no projecto de artes electrónicas / novos media intitulado ‘Os Lobos em Portugal’ da ArteCódigo Associação Cultural. O projecto é apoiado financeiramente pela Direcção Geral das Artes, e partes das obras são co-produzidas com o Grupo Lobo / Centro de Recuperação do Lobo Ibérico e com o CIBIO – Centro de Investigação em Biodiversidade e Recursos Genéticos da Universidade do Porto.

On Saturday, December 17th, within the scope of the project “Os Lobos em Portugal” by ArteCódigo Associação Cultural, an inaugural event of the public art sculpture Totem-Lobo #2 will be held at ArteCódigo SRAM, located in Casais de S. Brás, in Santarém. Join us for an afternoon that will include the opening of Totem-Lobo #2, a performance by Wolfmachine, and a live audio-visual intervention with special guests.
Totem-Lobo #2 is a bio-electronic, generative and structural totem sculpture, alluding to the decline of the Iberian wolf and its fundamental role in maintaining biodiverse and balanced natural ecosystems. A dynamic, fragile, evolutionary and generative picture that grows with the weather.
Wolfmachine is a bio-electronic work composed of mini electronic laser-beacons spread across the landscape that sing in synchrony visual patterns of historical data from the evolution of the wolf population in Portugal during the 20th century, through the rhythmic emission of beams of green laser light to the sky.
André Sier will present a live audio-visual moment with special guests, based on the work Half-Ant from 2020.
The inauguration of Totem-Lobo #2, the execution of Wolfmachine (2020-22) at ArteCódigo SRAM, at its headquarters in Casais de S. Brás, Santarém, is part of the electronic arts / new media project entitled ‘Os Lobos in Portugal’ by ArteCódigo Associação Cultural. The project is financially supported by the Direcção Geral das Artes, and parts of the works are co-produced with Grupo Lobo / Iberian Wolf Recovery Center and CIBIO – Research Center for Biodiversity and Genetic Resources of the University of Porto.
